The NYPD OPTIONS Program, established with
NYPD’s Youth Flag Football Mentorship Program
sponsored by the Police Foundation and the New York
Giants, provides participants with tutoring, school
mentoring and coaching by police officers, while
playing flag football on the Far Rockaway, Harlem,
and the Bronx Giants. Beyond learning to play

The Police Foundation also sponsors a variety of
programs each year that engage communities
across New York City’s diverse populations. Events
included Kids-Fest, which attracted over 10,000
young people, city-wide Back-to-School Initiatives,
that provided 9,600 students with backpacks and
school supplies. NYPD Baby Showers reached over
5,000 soon-to-be and recent mothers, providing
essential childcare items and connecting families
